About Rebecca
I have lived in Swansea for most of my life. I was born in Morriston, and now live in Uplands. I have two sons - one is at university and the other has an apprenticeship. I split my working life between working as a Lecturer at UWTSD and my HR consultancy. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Outside work, I like to watch the Swans, read good books and think about going to the gym.
I campaign regularly on behalf of the Labour Party. As Vice Chair, part of my role is to welcome new members to the party and organise campaign sessions. If you have arrived here because you want to join the Labour Party, you can do that by clicking on the following link. https://labour.org.uk/.
I believe in open, honest conversation and listening to every voice. I will be calling and visiting as many members as I possible, but you don't have to wait for me to call. You can email me on mailto:rebecca@rfd.wales or give me a ring tel:07757 084956
I bring strong experience in the public service, education and running my own business. My vision for Gŵyr Abertawe is five-fold:
Better healthcare services that are sustainable and fair
Secure, well-paid jobs with real opportunities to progress
Better transport links
It's time to tackle poverty and end reliance of on food banks
I will tackle workers' rights and promote stronger social partnership

Building a better Swansea
Regularly campaigning
Campaign pledge
I believe in active participation and listening to the community's needs, and if selected I will continue to work hard on behalf of the party to speak with as many local residents, businesses and local organisations as I can.

Building better jobs
People deserve well-designed jobs, that pay well and offer the opportunity for continuous development. I will work hard to attract investment for Swansea, working with other representatives and businesses.

A healthy Wales
We need to do make sure that our NHS delivers a good quality service, with reduced waiting times. At the same time, we need to be improving preventative measures, which will ease the pressure on the NHS.
The NHS was constantly debated over our dinner table at home - my mother was a radiographer at Morriston for many years.
